The Life, Practice, and Experience Behind the Curriculum

Kristen Waite, MSOM, LAc, is a licensed acupuncturist, herbalist, educator, author, and practical mystical healer whose work has been shaped by more than twenty years of helping individuals and families pursue greater physical, emotional, and spiritual balance.

Her approach brings together clinical training, natural medicine, contemplative practice, energetic healing, and careful observation of the ways the body, mind, emotions, and lived experience continually influence one another.

A FOUNDATION IN WESTERN SCIENCE AND TRADITIONAL CHINESE MEDICINE

Kristen’s education bridges two distinct systems of understanding health.

Her undergraduate studies established a strong foundation in Western science through pre-medical biology, chemistry, and nutrition. She later earned her Master’s degree in Oriental Medicine, grounding her clinical practice in Traditional Chinese Medicine—an established system of healing that has evolved over thousands of years.

This combination allows her to view the body through both modern scientific knowledge and the accumulated principles of an ancient medical tradition, bringing each perspective into thoughtful, individualized care.

Her work is further informed by extensive study in Chinese herbal medicine, essential oils, Reiki, esoteric astrology, meditation, and Kriya Yoga.

SERVING INDIVIDUALS AND FAMILIES FOR MORE THAN TWENTY YEARS

For more than two decades, Kristen has worked with children, adults, and multigenerational families throughout the community.

Through acupuncture, herbal medicine, nutrition, energetic healing, and individualized guidance, she has helped people better understand their bodies, recognize patterns, move through personal blockages, and participate more consciously in their own well-being.

Her practice has always been both practical and deeply personal: meeting each person where they are while helping them develop greater awareness, confidence, and trust in their own internal signals.

A PRACTICE BORN FROM PERSONAL EXPERIENCE

Kristen’s work was also shaped by her own healing journey. After receiving a lupus diagnosis in 2005, she began exploring natural medicine, self-care, and the deeper relationship between physical health, emotional life, and inner awareness.

That experience became the foundation for Mother’s Magic Apothecary and for the products, services, and teachings she later developed. Her intention has remained consistent: to create tools that are useful, meaningful, and capable of making a genuine difference in people’s lives.

HOW THE PRACTICE BECAME A CURRICULUM

The Happy, Healthy, Kind curriculum grew from the same questions Kristen encountered repeatedly in clinical practice:

How can children and adults understand what is happening inside them?

How can complex ideas about the body, emotions, energy, habits, and awareness be translated into language families can actually use?

The books, Field Notes, activities, Power Challenge Cards, interactive adventure, and adult works carry those observations into a structured curriculum spanning childhood, adolescence, adulthood, and advanced inquiry.

Each expression offers a different entry point, but the foundation remains the same: helping people notice more clearly, understand more deeply, make healthier choices, and return to balance with greater confidence.

THE ORIGIN BENEATH THE WORK

Behind every book, character, lesson, and tool is more than twenty years of clinical experience, personal study, family care, and direct observation.

The curriculum is the visible expression.

Kristen’s life, practice, and understanding are the origin.
